임명직 마다한 장제원 의미심장 글 "발톱 숨기고 때 기다린다"

장제원 국민의힘 의원이 개천절인 3일 “용맹한 새는 발톱을 숨긴다” 글을 남겼다.
장 의원은 이날 자신의 페이스북에 조계종 종정인 성파 통도사 방장 스님으로부터 귀중한 글귀를 받았다며 이를 소개했다.
성파 스님이 “장 의원을 생각하면서 썼다”며 준 글은 ‘猛禽陰爪 執弓待兔’(맹금음조집궁대토)다.
장 의원은 “용맹한 새는 발톱을 숨긴다. 활을 잡고 토끼를 기다리라는 뜻”이라며 “큰 스님의 가르침,임명직마다한장제원의미심장글quot발톱숨기고때기다린다 깊이 감사드린다”고 했다.
윤석열 대통령의 핵심 측근으로 꼽히는 장 의원은 지난해 8월 “윤석열 정부에서 임명직 공직을 맡지 않겠다”고 선언했다. 지난 3월 국민의힘 지도부를 선출하는 전당대회에서는 김기현 대표 당선을 지원했지만, 이후 당직을 맡지 않고 있다.
장 의원이 이 글을 소개한 것은 ‘조용히 때를 기다린다’라는 의지의 표현으로 보인다.
